What have we been commissioned to do? Jesus answers this question in John 14:12 “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
This blows me away! Have you read the things that Jesus did? He loved the unlovable, he touched the outcasts, and spoke to people he wasn’t supposed to interface with. He healed the sick, made the lame walk, and gave sight to the blind. He raised the dead! What could be greater than that? Well, one way we could look at it is that there are so many more of us that we will do “more” things than Jesus did because his time was short, but I don’t think that is what he meant. I think he meant GREATER THINGS!
He gave us the power of the Holy Spirit, the same spirit that was in him and he told us to go and make disciples. Let’s walk in the spirit today. Let’s follow God’s lead and see what he has in store for us. I believe it will be better than we could ever imagine.
