Gimel – Benefits

On Sunday, we continued our study of the Hebrew letter gimel or number 3. We focused on the meanings of “benefits” and “bring to maturity”.

Pastor Curtis had us study Psalm 103:1-5
1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

What are the benefits of following the Lord? He forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, and satisfies us. Those are some great promises! Meditate on these verses this week.

We learned that the letter gimel ‘walks’ toward the next letter dalet. Dalet represents a person who is in need. So a mature follower of Christ will take the blessing they have received from the Lord and share them with those that they come across knowing that God will renew and restore what we have given away. Deut 15:11 reminds us to be open handed.

We closed with a warning from 1 Peter 4:17. Judgement will begin in the house of the Lord. He will check our maturity first before He judges the world.

Let’s work on growing in Christ this week!
