An Open Door

I don’t believe in coincidences. God knows what he is doing and he is working things out for us much more than we notice or give him thanks for. Vickie got a word for the book of Nahum last week and that ‘just happened’ to be what we were studying in Sunday school yesterday. Nate has been teaching on the lampstand churches in Revelation and many of the messages have been timely and relevant to the happenings of those weeks. Therefore, I think this message of an open door IS encouragement for all of us, but specifically for someone who reads this post.

Revelation 3:8 – “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.'”

God knows us. He knows that we ‘have but little power’. But he knows we can be victorious. He created us to need him. And He is making us great promises here. We get open doors, we get the keys of David, we get his name written on us (we are his). Take some time to read through the section on Philadelphia in Revelation 3 this week. Claim his promises because they weren’t just for those Christians at that time and place, they are for us today.
