Patience = Salvation

Is God really patient? Is he really waiting on us? A lie that so many of us believe is that God is like the Greek gods of myth who look down on our happenings like the next episode of a reality TV show and sometimes add little plot twists to keep it interesting. This is not the God I read of in the bible. My bible says that God is love (1 John 4:8) and then tells me what love is and does (1 Corinthians 13).

How does he show his loving patience with us? Peter warns of the coming end times, but that they are being held off because of God’s patience. “2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. … 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him.”

God is waiting for us as Paul says in Romans 11:25 “I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved.”

Let’s pray for the harvest. Let’s pray for that last amazing global revival before it is time for the end. Let’s pray to have the kind of love that is patient instead of just wishing he would come back already. Think of the people who might not get to go to heaven if Jesus came back today and have compassion. Pray for them, reach out to them, love them.

And if you don’t know Jesus and God’s patience that means salvation, please don’t wait. Jesus is coming back. His promises are sure. He wants you to come with him to paradise!
