“Lord, thank you for all the fun we have been having!” This pretty much boils down the daily prayer of our 5 year old over the last couple of weeks. As much of the world panic buys and worries about their stock values or files for unemployment, his biggest worries are when the next snack time will be and who will play a game with him. We’d like to think his lack fear is due to awesome parenting, but maybe it is simpler than that.
Maybe we need to shift our perspective. Instead of worrying, which the bible tells us not to do anyway, we should look for the blessings in every day. The good things in spite of the bad. The people and businesses who are helping others or finding new ways to do things. Let’s use the tools we have to reach out to our friends and neighbors. Tomorrow has enough trouble of its own, let’s leave it for then. Maybe we need a childlike faith and to trust our good, good Father. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
May your days be full of blessings and may your prayers always end with “Thank you for all the fun we had today.”
