The five primary love languages are: physical touch, quality time, acts of service, words of affirmation, and gifts. (The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman) Everyone gives and receives love differently. Do you know your spouse or children’s love language(s)? Is your love language different? You may need to intentionally love differently than is natural for you in order for another person to feel loved.
So here’s our challenge for the week! Do a love language checkup.
Have you given hugs, kisses, and cuddles or wrestling and tickling (dependent on the object of your affection) today?
Have you spent time with those you love or called them on the phone just to say hi?
Have you done something nice for your loved ones, just because?
Have you written any nice cards or shared compliments with them?
Have you left little gifts or surprises in fun places for your special ones to discover?
These are just some ideas in each of the categories. Try to ‘love outside your box’ today. Love Shows!
