We weren’t meant to do this life alone. God is continually in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and Jesus and he asks us to follow suit. We should be having our personal time with Him on a regular basis, but we also need time with others.
We have shared this image before. I wish I knew who to give credit, because it always sums up exactly what I want to show when talking about the “each others”. A verse from yesterday’s sermon would be a good caption: Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Pastor Nate is teaching on the altars of prayer. The first altar is our personal altar and this is where we sacrifice ourselves – our time, our possessions, our talents. This is vitally necessary for us to know what God’s will is for our life and stay in fellowship with him. But the second altar is just as important – the core altar. Every body needs a core group – prayer partners – battle buddies – support system. Who do you call or text when you need someone to pray “right now”? If you don’t have an answer to this question, please work on finding people to pray with you and invest the time to pray for them as well. As shown in the image above, we all need others to ‘carry’ us at different times. Make sure you have people you are walking with so you don’t fall down with no one to help you up.
Focus on building or maintaining your core altar this week!
