Did you know that we are supposed to be laboring for Jesus? Luke 10 gives instructions on how we should do his work. Two-by-two, check for receptivity, announce the kingdom of God. There is a reason Jesus uses words like “harvest” and “worker”. This is not an easy desk job. It isn’t a gift or a feast, the job of harvesting is difficult. But he does say the harvest is plentiful! We need to be out there laboring. One person plants the seed, one waters, and another sows. We need to be working together. We all have jobs to do. Are you doing yours?
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
