Pastor’s Notes

We’ve just finished a long-ish series about how we are Better Together, under the headship of Christ.  I’d like to take a minute to reiterate the need for good communication.

Communication is hard, no doubt, especially when conflict is involved.  But bad communication, or an avoidance of conflict, is a hindrance to everything we want to accomplish as a people of God.  We desire to be of one mind (1 Corinthians 1:10), working together in the Great Commission.

We want to develop a culture in LAMP Ministries where people understand that by making an effort to communicate well and working through conflict, with humility and emotional intelligence, that we help each other mature into the Bride of Christ.

So here are some specific thoughts, borrowed from Prophet Cheryl Ballard.

  • Don’t fear confrontation in a covenant relationship.  If in doubt, re-establish the covenant before addressing the conflict.
  • Confrontation is not a bad thing, it was through confrontation that Jesus brought you from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light!
  • If you avoid confrontation, you miss the opportunity for restoration and breakthroughs in your life.

May the LORD stir you into new levels of hunger for Christ-centered community and your own personal commitment to prayer, reading of the Word, and radically generous living,
