Treasures

I have seen this principle proven in my own life over and over. Those who trust God and his promises concerning their giving are blessed. And not just blessed, but blessed abundantly!

As Pastor Nate mentioned in his sermon yesterday, God isn’t interested in your quantity. Those who make a little and those who make a lot both fall under this promise. So don’t compare. He is intersted in your quality. Do you give off the top? Do you give first before other cares of the world get a turn? Do you respond those in need as the needs cross your path? Do you give with a joyful heart? Do you trust him to use your 10% to bless the world and make your 90% work harder than your 100%?

It isn’t easy. This is an area of our lives where the temptations often win. Here is what the bible suggests . . . test Him on this. Yes, God himself offers us the challenge in Malachi 3:10. The Israelites had stopped following God’s ways and he basically asks them “How is that working out for you? Why don’t you try it the way I told you to at first?” And that challege is still valid for us today. Test him on this and watch the blessings flow!
