Church family,

This is the month we say goodbye to Hannah, she moves into her dorm at Nelson University in Waxahachie soon. For six years Hannah faithfully led others into worship of the living God! Hannah got thrust into this at the age of 12, when her mom and dad were called to become church planters. Week after week, Hannah rose to the occasion: picking the songs and the keys, preparing for practice, leading practice, leading worship, repeat. She has led worship in so many different places and occasions: sanctuaries, parks, mission trips, Baptist Student Movement, Mentoring Alliance, etc. One of my proudest moments was when she led about 200 friends and family in singing The Blessing at my father’s memorial service in 2021. What a blessing she has been to so many people! It has been a sheer delight for me to play alongside her, and to learn from her.

I will miss hearing her angelic voice singing around the house, and I’m sure you will miss her smiles and warm hugs at the church. But in truth, this is a happy occasion! We want to be a sending church. We want to be a church of families raising strong and independent children, rooted in the Lord. We want to be a church that is shaping disciple makers and world changers. We want to be a church whose impact reaches the ends of the Earth! Hannah will have an even greater opportunity to bring the Kingdom of God to people using her new platforms of Nelson University and eventually Elementary Education.

Keep Hannah in your prayers, and also please pray for our worship team! Our team has been growing in numbers and skill this year, but Hannah leaves big shoes to fill! Please join us in praying that the Lord would bring or raise up a new worship leader! I pray that this is an Abraham and Isaac kind of moment: we have to be willing to release Hannah so that God can provide the ram! Oh Lord, please bring the ram soon!
We love you Hannah, now go take on the world!
